After the installation of the high-efficiency filter is completed, a site leak detection test must be carried out to confirm that there is no leakage in the filter material, frame, and installation sealing surface. This is a key step in the acceptance of clean workshops, and both TFT-LCD and biopharmaceutical GMP workshops require on-site leak detection. Leak detection is generally carried out using the PAO aerosol method. During the test, PAO aerosol is sent upstream of the filter, and a photometer is used to scan the surface of the filter material, the sealing joint of the filter flange, and the gap between the filter and the box. The scanning speed needs to be controlled within the specified range. Once the concentration exceeds the standard, it indicates the presence of a leak point.
Leak detection operation procedure: Start the system, adjust the air volume to the rated air volume of the filter, and stabilize the system airflow; introduce smoke at the upstream end, wait for the concentration of the aerosol at the upstream end to stabilize, then use the sampling probe to scan the filter point by point. The filter material body, the joint between the filter material and the frame, and the sealing surface of the flange are the key detection positions. If leakage is detected during the inspection, the leakage point needs to be marked, depressurization maintenance is required, the filter is repaired or replaced, and re-testing must be conducted to ensure compliance before it can be put into use.
